Advertising in small business: Yay or Nay?

Following our series on how to start a business, one of the factors we looked into was marketing; the importance of it and the many ways you can put it into action. One of these ways is advertising.

So what is the essence of advertising? According to ‘the Principles of Marketing’:

Advertising has three primary objectives: to inform, to persuade, and to remind. Informative Advertising creates awareness of brands, products, services, and ideas. It announces new products and programs and can educate people about the attributes and benefits of new or established products.
