Leadership: The Difference and Levels

The definition of a leader is “the person who leads or commands a group, organization or county”.

But how do you define a leader? A leader is someone who views things differently, they see where things can be improved or done more effectively and they motivate people towards that goal. They are compassionate, empowering, supportive and understanding of their employees or peers and most importantly kind in their criticism or teaching.
However there is a difference between a boss and a leader. A boss does not necessarily make you a leader, it comes down to the characteristics of a person.

A boss is a person put in charge of a situation, a leader is the person who takes charge of a situation. So now we understand the definition of a leader, we know what defines a leader, we know there is a quality or characteristic that sets them apart but how can we identify these differences in people?

In keeping with the qualities of leaders and the stance of leadership, we should also be cognizant of the levels of leadership and decide which level you’re on and which level you aspire to be on.
